Computers can be intimidating even when they are working properly. They are a collection of very small and very complex parts, all supposedly working together to do your daily tasks. And when they begin to break down, they often don't just go "all at once". Sometimes it is a slow and painful process. Your programs begin to slow down... Your operating system takes longer and longer to boot. Programs that used to work perfectly now give weird results, or simply don't work at all. This happens because your computer needs maintenance just like any other piece of machinery. Sometimes even a good cleaning of the insides can make a big difference. So my job as a nerd is to examine your computer, compare it with your computing needs, and make recommendations. Those recommendations can be anything from a cleaning to reloading software to rebuilding from the ground up.
